The Liberals in 2008 developed a 10-year Waverley Environmental Vision with a target of 70% reduction of the LGA’s greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 (based on 1996 levels). It proposed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and waste to landfill, and to use water more efficiently.

Programs such as Building Futures, Solar My Schools and Second Nature, plus environmental grants to schools and small businesses, were introduced to assist in achieving these goals.

The Waverley Liberals are proud of the achievements to date and believe by working together with business and the community we can reach net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
