Joshua Spicer wishes to serve the people of Waverley and the Waverley ward. He is passionate about a voice for young people, good financial management and protecting our unique environment for future generations.
Joshua has lived in the Waverley municipality for his entire life, attending local public schools and served as the Vice-Captain of Rose Bay Secondary College in 2016. He graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney in 2019 with a Bachelor of Accounting, after being awarded a Co-op scholarship.
Since June 2020 Joshua has been working as an Audit and Assurance associate at the leading professional services firm EY. His work duties include auditing ASX listed health care corporations, State Government agencies and international not-for-profit organisations. In this role he has helped them navigate the Covid-19 pandemic.
Whilst at University Josh completed internships at PPB Advisory (Acquired by PwC), Deloitte Financial Advisory and Cuscal Limited.
This experience has given Joshua a unique perspective on prudent practises of managing finances in complex private and public organisations, which he hopes to bring to Waverley Council.
Joshua has actively participated in community organisations including a stint as a Bondi Nipper and seven years as a “Grey Wolf” Cub and Scout, with Third Rose Bay Scout Troupe in North Bondi. He volunteered for two years to protect eastern suburb communities at houses of worship with the Community Security Group.
Joshua currently serves as an elected Deputy with the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies and is the Vice President of the Vaucluse Young Liberals.
Josh enjoys spending time with his family and walking around the beautiful surrounds of Waverley with his pet Cavoodle “Toffee”.
